The great participation by Seeland Park residents in the 2012 Community Garage Sales was rewarded with a huge turnout of visitors and bargain hunters on July 21. Zelda (Betty Hammond’s cousin with long red curls) helped out by providing maps of the 29 garage sale locations to vehicles as they entered the Seeland Park Community at Fourth Avenue and Penrose Street.
Apparently Seeland Park was “the place to be” because a representative from First Presbyterian Church even came to promote its rummage sale.
First-time visitors to the community were favorably impressed with Seeland Park and the friendly residents. At least two Seeland Park residents were so accommodating that when asked if a certain item not on their garage sale was available, they went into their homes to get the items for an unexpected sale!
The Seeland Park Marketing Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the garage sales or who helped out in some other way, including our Maintenance staff, for making this such a successful event.
