Employees Donate $13,465 to St. Francis Manor Foundation

Thank you to the following employees who donated to the St. Francis Manor Foundation either by check or through payroll deduction during the calendar year 2020: Sammi Bryan, Kelly Burns, Tiffany Criswell, Lori Glosser, Betty Hammond, Kayla Lint, Vickie Miller, Dion Schrack, Shelley Schrack, Tim Stahl, Cindy Strobel, June Watkins, and two anonymous donors. Their generous donations totaling $13,465 were very much appreciated and benefited the Furniture, Gazebo, NuStep, PPE, Tree, Van, and Unrestricted Funds; as well as the Hammond Center for Assisted Living.

Staff & Residents Receive COVID Vaccine

​​​​​​​GREAT NEWS…126 total people received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a clinic held on Friday, January 8th in the Hawn Center! Pharmacists from Walgreens administered the Pfizer vaccine to 67 staff members, 19 Hammond Center tenants and 40 St. Francis Manor residents.

A Trip to the White House

Seeland Park resident Madolyn Braley's sister, Marjorie Casey, was nominated in 1995 by the Des Moines Needlepoint Guild to be the person from Iowa to contribute a Christmas needlepoint stocking for the Christmas tree in the Blue Room at The White House. Louise Doty Celebrates Her 102nd Birthday

Imagine living through not only one pandemic but two during your lifetime—that’s just what St. Francis Manor resident Louise Doty has done! Anna Louise Larsen was born in 1918 during the Spanish Flu pandemic, she recovered from COVID-19 in May 2020, and celebrated her 102nd birthday on November 25!
