LiteGait Fundraiser Celebration

July 3, 2018

On June 7, we celebrated Tim Stahl and Jon Duke’s 347-mile bike ride across Iowa on gravel and dirt roads to raise money for a very sophisticated LiteGait System for the Rehabilitation Clinic at St. Francis Manor. The celebration included a very informative powerpoint presentation by Tim and Jon which walked the audience through their training and preparation for the bike ride as well as photos from their actual ride.

A highlight of the presentation was watching an amazing video taken as Jon was biking down a big hill! Thanks to Cindy and Arnie, attendees were able to try some snacks similar to those that kept Tim and Jon nourished on their bike ride, including Denver rice cakes, apple cinnamon rice cakes and honey bacon jerky!  We are happy to announce that we have received over $39,420 in donations so we will also be able to purchase two recumbent bikes—one for our rehab patients to use and the other to be used by residents in our restorative program!  Thanks to Ken & Mary Eggman and Gary & Connie Shebeck for their generous matching pledges and to all the donors who made this campaign a success! View more photos on Facebook from their celebration! Read more about their story here.
