As a 24/7 facility, we offer both full-time and part-time employment and a variety of work schedules. Employees who regularly work a schedule of 30 hours or more per week are eligible for paid sick leave, vacation leave and holiday pay; and may also enroll in voluntary benefits such as health, dental and/or vision insurance and our 403(b) retirement plan.

The following is a brief description of the positions for which we regularly accept employment applications:
Dietary Aide
No experience is necessary as we provide on-the-job training. Dietary aides assist in serving meals and beverages to residents as well as delivering and picking up food trays. Duties may include setting up trays for meals with napkin, flatware, condiments, straw and dietary card; pouring beverages; placing desserts, salads and other food items on serving dishes; clearing and cleaning dining tables, etc. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age and be able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Nurse Aide
If you are not already a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), we will help you become certified by providing you with a study guide, the opportunity to job shadow experienced CNAs, and paying for your training and testing. Nurse aides provide personal care and assistance to residents which may involve helping them with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, getting in and out of bed, toileting, etc. Nurse aides are also responsible for changing bed linens, answering call lights, taking vitals, observing and reporting changes in a resident’s physical and emotional condition, etc. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
LPN & RN
Charge/staff nurses assist in the supervision and administration of quality nursing care to the residents of St. Francis Manor. Duties include evaluating residents’ needs, conditions and care; communicating with family members and physicians; ordering and administering medications; maintaining resident charts and records; supervising staff members; arranging schedules, appointments and transportation for residents; assisting nurse aides with cares as needed; assisting with the admission, transfer and discharge of residents; etc. Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid LPN or RN license with the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Other Positions
Other positions in our dietary, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, or administrative areas occasionally become available and are advertised in the Grinnell Pennysaver or Poweshiek County CR.
