Seeland Park Announces Its Summer Tour of Homes
Seeland Park, an active 55+ Life Plan Community located on the east side of Grinnell, invites the public to its Summer Tour of Homes on Sunday, June 10, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. Seeland Park currently has four residences listed for sale as well as five lots available for anyone interested in building their perfect retirement home! On June 10th, attendees will be able to tour one of the newest single family homes in the building development between Maple Street and Second Avenue that will eventually include 13 single family homes (basement optional) with 2 or 3-car garages.
Those who attend the Tour of Homes will see a variety of floor plans and unit sizes, including a single family home, three large duplexes, two small duplexes, a 1-bedroom duplex and an apartment. Four of the homes open for tour are currently listed for sale, including a 1750 sq ft duplex, a 1250 sq ft duplex, a 950 sq ft duplex and a 772 sq ft apartment. In addition, the following Seeland Park residents will open their homes for tours: Mike & Susan Thorndike at 708 Pinehurst Drive; Dean & Bev Heishman at 824 Penrose Street; Dwight & Betty Niday at 820 Turnberry Drive; and Warren & Nancy Pick at 805 Turnberry Drive.
During the Tour of Homes, attendees may also visit the Rehabilitation Clinic located at the west entrance of St. Francis Manor to see a demonstration of their new LiteGait system—a partial weight bearing machine that will support patients while they are rehabilitating from a stroke or medical condition that limits their ability to walk or maintain balance. Visitors are also invited to stop by the Social Center located on the northwest side of St. Francis Manor to enjoy refreshments and view a display of nature photography taken by Seeland Park residents.
Seeland Park is part of a 31-acre Life Plan Community offering independent living, home health care, rehabilitative services, skilled nursing, and long-term care which allows residents an opportunity to age in place should their healthcare needs change. The Hammond Center for Assisted Living is currently under construction and will include 20 assisted living apartments and amenities such as a walking track, fitness equipment, movie theater, etc. for use by all campus residents.
