We held a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Friday, January 8th and 126 people received their first dose. Pharmacists from Walgreens administered the Pfizer vaccine to 67 staff members, 19 Hammond Center tenants, and 40 St. Francis Manor residents. The second dose was administered on January 29th as well as the first dose for those who missed the January 8th clinic. Manager/RN Sammi Bryan says “I am proud to have gotten the Covid vaccine to help protect our tenants at the Hammond Center, they are like my own family and I want to keep them safe!”
Thank you to the following employees who donated to the St. Francis Manor Foundation either by check or through payroll deduction during the calendar year 2020: Sammi Bryan, Kelly Burns, Tiffany Criswell, Lori Glosser, Betty Hammond, Kayla Lint, Vickie Miller, Dion Schrack, Shelley Schrack, Tim Stahl, Cindy Strobel, June Watkins, and two anonymous donors. Their generous donations totaling $13,465 were very much appreciated and benefited the Furniture, Gazebo, NuStep, PPE, Tree, Van, and Unrestricted Funds; as well as the Hammond Center for Assisted Living.
To say Betty is well-known in the Grinnell community is an understatement as she and late husband Montie owned and managed several successful businesses during their careers and were always willing to help others as well as lend a hand with community events. Read about how her autobiography came to print, and where you can get a copy on our website.
